AI screenshot review: what Zolvio’s AI looks for
Built-in checks read what your pages show, measure how they load and test them at phone width. AI screenshot review looks at your store the way a shopper does: in screenshots, on a desktop and on a phone.
How it works
- On paid plans with AI in audits and fixes turned on, each audit captures the homepage, the all-products collection, your cart page with an item in it when the audit could add one (in its own browser session; checkout is never opened), a product page and, when your plan’s screenshot allowance has room, your policy and contact pages, at 1440 pixels wide for desktop and 375 pixels wide for a phone.
- Zolvio’s AI agent reviews the screenshots in labeled sections and may only report problems it can see in them, each tied to a place on the page. It files every finding under one of the problem types below.
- A second review checks each finding against its screenshot before anything reaches your issue list.
- When the AI and a built-in check find the same problem, you get one issue, not two.
- Problems that fit none of these types are still reported, each as its own issue.
What it looks for
These are the 27 problem types the AI files its findings under. Where a built-in check covers the same problem, the name links to that check’s page.
Trust
No reviews or ratings where shoppers make the decision.
Guided theme fix: Add a reviews app and place its widget near the price or buy button.
No visible way to contact the store.
Guided theme fix: Add contact options to the header or footer.
No links to store policies
No visible links to returns or shipping policies.
Guided theme fix: Link your policies from the footer.
Low-quality or stretched images
Blurry, low-resolution or stretched images that make the store look less trustworthy.
Fix in Shopify admin or the theme editor: Replace them with high-quality images in Content → Files and the sections that use them.
Duplicate copyright or leftover “Powered by Shopify” text
Repeated copyright lines or leftover platform credits that make the footer look unfinished.
General fix steps: Tidy the footer in the theme editor; “Powered by Shopify” can be blanked under Edit default theme content.
An offer that has ended is still advertised
A banner, badge, bar or countdown still advertising a holiday sale or a deadline that passed before the audit.
Fix in Shopify admin or the theme editor: Remove or update it in the theme editor, or in the settings of the app that shows it.
Placeholder pictures or template text left in
Shopify’s grey placeholder pictures where a product photo or section image belongs, or template words left in, such as “THE NAME GO HERE”.
Fix in Shopify admin or the theme editor: Upload the real photos in the product’s Media, and replace section pictures and text in the theme editor (a pop-up’s in its app’s settings).
Speed
Pop-up covering the page
A pop-up or overlay covering the page before the shopper can use it.
Guided theme fix: Make it easy to dismiss, or show it only after the shopper has interacted.
Mobile
Buttons and links too small to tap on a phone.
Guided theme fix: Enlarge them and add spacing in a mobile media query.
Content wider than the phone screen
Content running off the edge of the screen, making the page scroll sideways.
Guided theme fix: Constrain the element that widens the page.
Text too small or too low in contrast to read on a phone.
Guided theme fix: Increase its size or contrast on mobile.
Sticky bar covering content
A sticky header, banner or bar covering content or the buy button on a phone.
Guided theme fix: Adjust the sticky element so it no longer covers content or the buy button.
Mobile menu hard to use
A mobile menu that’s hard to open, read or use.
Fix in Shopify admin or the theme editor: Check the Header section settings; if the menu drawer itself is broken, contact your theme’s developer.
Words cut apart or cut off
A heading, offer or label split mid-word, or cut off at the edge of the screen or a picture.
Guided theme fix: Let the text wrap between words: a smaller size on phones and room for the full text.
Text over a photo that can’t be read
Words laid over a photo that blend into it, such as white text on a pale area.
Guided theme fix: Add an overlay or a background behind the text so it stands out from the picture.
Navigation
Link pointing to the wrong place
A link or button that leads somewhere it shouldn’t.
Fix in Shopify admin or the theme editor: Fix it in Content → Menus or in the theme section that shows it.
Search missing or tucked away where shoppers won’t see it.
Guided theme fix: Show the search entry point in the header.
A footer without the usual links to policies, contact or FAQ.
Guided theme fix: Add a footer menu with those links.
Product page
Little or no product description.
Fix in Shopify admin or the theme editor: Write it on the product in Shopify admin.
No visible price, or one that’s hard to find.
Fix in Shopify admin or the theme editor: Set the price in admin, or show the price block in the theme editor.
No product image, or too few to judge the product by.
Fix in Shopify admin or the theme editor: Upload images to the product’s Media in Shopify admin.
Confusing size or color selector
Variant options that are unclear or hard to choose.
Guided theme fix: Make the selector obvious and label each option clearly.

Guided theme fix: Increase its visibility and contrast, high on the page.
No size guide on products where fit matters.
Guided theme fix: Add a size-guide link or block next to the size option.

Weak checkout button in the cart
A checkout button in the cart that doesn’t stand out.
Guided theme fix: Make the cart’s checkout button unmistakable.
No shipping information before checkout
No shipping cost or free-shipping threshold before checkout.
Guided theme fix: Show your shipping cost or free-shipping threshold in the cart, near the checkout button.
No payment icons near checkout
No accepted-payment icons near the cart’s checkout button.
Guided theme fix: Show your enabled payment icons next to the cart’s checkout button.
Fixing what it finds
For problem types with a guided theme fix, Zolvio writes the steps for your own theme: the file to open, the line to find and the code to add, with each file opening in Shopify’s code editor. The others point you to the right place in Shopify admin or the theme editor.

Common questions
What does Zolvio’s AI screenshot review look for?
Problems a shopper can see in desktop and mobile screenshots of your store. The AI files every finding under one of 27 problem types in six categories (trust, speed, mobile, navigation, product page and checkout), such as a pop-up covering the page, a sticky bar hiding the buy button or a missing size guide. Problems that fit none of them are reported on their own.
Which pages does the AI review?
Each audit captures the homepage, the all-products collection, your cart page with an item in it when the audit could add one (in its own browser session; checkout is never opened), a product page and, when your plan’s screenshot allowance has room, your policy and contact pages, at 1440 pixels wide for desktop and 375 pixels wide for a phone.
Does the AI change anything in my store?
No. It only looks at screenshots and reports what it finds. Zolvio never edits your theme: fixes are steps you follow yourself, and the checkout itself is managed in your Shopify settings.
