Plain-language definitions used in Zolvio docs and policies.

Personal Data

Information that can identify a person directly or indirectly. In many regions, pseudonymous identifiers and behavioral data can be considered personal data.

PII

“Personally identifiable information” is an informal term often used to mean directly identifying data (names, emails, addresses). Legal definitions vary by jurisdiction.

Controller vs Processor

• Controller: decides why/how data is processed (often the merchant)
• Processor: processes data on behalf of the controller (often the app vendor)

Consent

A user’s permission for specific types of processing. Consent must usually be informed and revocable.
