How Consent Affects Each Feature

Zolvio reads your store’s cookie consent through Shopify’s Customer Privacy API, so your consent banner needs to be connected to it.

  • Recordings and heatmaps: only for shoppers whose consent allows analytics. If a shopper withdraws consent, recording stops and anything not yet sent is deleted from their browser.
  • Surveys: shown only to shoppers whose consent allows analytics.
  • A/B tests: assignment runs for every visitor so each one sees a consistent version; it uses a random ID and a 30-day cookie and never records the session.

Don’t rely on assumptions

Consent requirements vary by region, traffic source, and your cookie/SDK stack. Always test your store’s consent flow in the regions you serve.

Excluded Pages

Checkout, account, order and login pages are never recorded, and A/B tests and surveys don’t run on them. If you have custom sensitive flows, mark them explicitly. See Session Recordings: Privacy & Consent.
