Session Recordings: Sampling & Retention
How Zolvio controls recording volume, storage, and deletion.
Why Sampling Exists
- Recording every visitor is expensive and often unnecessary
- Sampling helps you stay within plan quotas while keeping sessions representative
- Sampling also reduces privacy exposure by limiting collection
How Sampling Works
Sampling is designed to be consistent for a given visitor (so you don't capture partial sessions unpredictably). If your plan’s sampling rate is below 100%, you may see fewer sessions recorded than total store visits.
Tip
If you’re troubleshooting “missing sessions”, check sampling and consent first. See Troubleshooting.
Monthly Limits
Plan limits determine how many sessions you can record per billing cycle. See Billing & Plans.
Retention
Retention determines how long recorded data is kept before deletion. Retention is plan-based and enforced automatically.
- Free: 7 days
- Starter: 30 days
- Growth: 60 days
- Pro: 180 days
Deletion
- Expired recordings/events are removed automatically as part of scheduled retention cleanup
- Some aggregated analytics may be retained longer in a minimized form (for trends), depending on your plan
